Start/Stop Destinations
Start/Stop Destinations allows operators to independently start and stop individual output destinations on a running pipeline without interrupting the encoder or other active outputs. This enables flexible multi-destination management during live productions without requiring a full pipeline restart.
Key capabilities
Start or stop any configured output destination independently at runtime. No encoder restart required. All other active destinations remain unaffected. Supported on SRT, RTMP, and MPEG-TS outputs. Status visible in the Web UI and via API.
Broadcast engineering context
In multi-destination live productions, the requirement to add or remove a destination mid-stream is common — a platform may go offline, a backup stream may become unnecessary, or a new distribution point may need to be added after the broadcast has started. Previously this required stopping the entire pipeline, which caused disruption to all destinations. Start/Stop Destinations eliminates this constraint.
Use cases
- Multi-platform streaming — activate/deactivate social media outputs independently
- Cloud production — connect or disconnect cloud processing nodes during a live show
- Backup management — start a backup destination only when the primary shows instability
- Contribution routing — redirect outputs to different MCR endpoints without downtime
UI Settings
Each configured destination is listed in the Destinations panel. Use the Start and Stop controls next to the destination name to activate or deactivate it while the encoder is running. The encoder status and all other destinations remain unaffected.
